Inspire Ankeny is the vision of the 2013-2014 Ankeny Leadership Institute participants listed below. As a class project, the intent of Inspire Ankeny was to ignite the giving spirit within Ankeny. In 2021, our class wanted to honor our fellow classmate, Renee Murphy, who our community suddenly lost after a brief illness. Renee was an amazing champion for all and it was her mission in life to pay it forward to others. Many of us were recipients of Renee’s kindness and we are honored to re-ignite the giving spirit in Ankeny in Renee’s memory.

The purpose of the Ankeny Leadership Institute is to enhance the personal leadership skills of participants, increase their insight on Ankeny issues and inspire participants to become involved in community leadership roles. The program is carried out through a cooperative partnership between the City of Ankeny, The Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ankeny Economic Development Corporation.
