What’s this Inspire Ankeny thing all about?

A project developed by the Ankeny Leadership Institute Class of 2014, Inspire Ankeny’s intent is to ignite the giving spirit within Ankeny. Through social media and participation from local leaders, businesses, non-profit organizations and schools, the Inspire Ankeny campaign encourages community-wide involvement in random acts of kindness. The campaign challenges the residents of Ankeny, and the Greater Des Moines area, to join together to Pay It Forward.

How do I tie my random act of kindness to Inspire Ankeny?
Special Inspire Ankeny business cards have been created as leave behind cards for those on the receiving end of a random act of kindness. The goal with these cards is to not only tie the act to Inspire Ankeny, but encourage the recipient to pay it forward and share a random act of kindness, and the Inspire Ankeny card, with someone else. Inspire Ankeny cards can be picked up for your use at the following locations during normal business hours:

• Ankeny Chamber of Commerce - 1631 SW Main St #204-205, Ankeny, IA 50023
• Cafe Diem - 2005 S Ankeny Blvd Suite 800, Ankeny
• On With Life – 715 SW Ankeny Road, Ankeny, IA 50023 (yellow house on the southeast side of the campus)

Is there a certain timeframe associated with the Inspire Ankeny project?
While the Class of 2014 will periodically create a “push” around the campaign, the intent is for Inspire Ankeny to continue as long as we have participants willing to complete random acts of kindness and utilize the Inspire Ankeny cards. The leaders of the project will often recruit Inspire Ankeny Ambassadors who are charged with spreading the Pay It Forward message and completing their own Pay It Forwards throughout a given timeframe.
